Caroline van der Plas is done with Claudia de Breij. She believes that from now on the comedian should think before she shouts something. “What else would you have wanted me to do?!”
Pieter Omtzigt pushed aside the new spokesperson for his party New Social Contract after just a few hours on Tuesday because of an old tweet about Caroline van der Plas. In it, the pressman called her BBB party ‘a tumor that is destroying the fragile democracy from within’. It was reason for Pieter to send him away immediately.

Caroline has the idea that Claudia is implying something about this and she is very annoyed by that. “Now it’s my fault?? Wow,” she writes in a widely read tweet.

Jan Dijkgraaf, the biographer of the Meilandjes, then asks Claudia: “It never got that far, did it? Omtzigt gave him the bag.”
Claudia then: “Yes, exactly. Because of that tweet about BBB. I can imagine that the leader of that party would not have found that necessary.”
And then Caroline again: “I wished him good luck and invited him to have a chat. An hour later he was fired. What would you have wanted me to do further, Claudia?”
‘Let me think a moment!’
Caroline is annoyed by the way Claudia intervenes in the debate. “Maybe from now on you should think or ask before posting something like that again.”
She concludes: “I was willing to have a conversation with him about his opinions about me, BBB and his tweets. Do you really hold me responsible for the personnel policy of other parties?”
