Two Thin Lizzy live records will celebrate their anniversaries in the coming year – and will consequently be honored with newly mastered re-releases. On January 23, 2023, “Live And Dangerous” will be released in an 8-CD box set, 45 years after it was first released.

Classic was the result of a busy schedule

The album was recorded between 1976 and 1978 during the tours accompanying the two long-players “Johnny the Fox” and “Bad Reputation”. Because the Irish were keen to work with Tony Visconti again, but the producer only had a small window in his calendar, bandleader Philip Lynott came up with the idea of putting together a live album. In addition to the original album, the 8 CD set includes all concerts recorded for “Live And Dangerous”. Those six gigs from London, Toronto and Philadelphia were remixed and remastered under the supervision of Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham.

Also on January 23, 2023, the live album “Life” will be released in a remastered 2CD version. It was originally released in the fall of 1983 and accordingly celebrates its 40th anniversary. Leading up to the recording, frontman Phil Lynott felt it was time to disband the group. For the occasion, he gathered his former guitarists Eric Bell, Brian Robertson and Gary Moore along with his then current guitarists John Sykes and Scott Gorham at London’s Hammersmith Odeon. They all played together in the performance of The Rocker. A total of eight band members were on stage at this performance.
