In the lawsuit against actor Thijs Römer, he is accused, among other things, of possessing child pornography and of sending photos of his genitals to three underage fans from Drenthe, Friesland and North Brabant.
The actor partially denies those allegations. He faces court today because he is suspected of sexual misconduct.
Römer tells the judges that he wants to take his responsibility, but does not acknowledge what he is accused of. Sending such a so-called dick pic could put the 44-year-old actor under duress. This can have an aggravating effect if the court deems it proven that these photos were actually sent. All this would have happened between 2015 and 2017.
The actor appeared before the court in Assen today. He is very tense, he told the judges. To avoid confrontation with interested parties, the actor entered the court through the back entrance.
Two of the three declarants are present in court, where they are assisted by lawyer Maartje Schaap. The two also use their right to speak, with only the Drenthe doing this in public. Schaap will read out the statement of the absent declarant.
