FvD leader Thierry Baudet was hit in the head on Thursday evening just before the start of a lecture in Ghent.
When Baudet arrived at the campus where he is giving a lecture this evening, he was approached by a person. He was ready at the entrance of the building and hit Baudet hard on the head with an object.
Member of Parliament Freek Jansen is present in Ghent and says yes The Telegraph : “We are very shocked, but Thierry is doing well. Although his head hurts.”
Baudet went inside after the incident and his lecture could begin. FvD believes that the attacker hit with an umbrella. According to Jansen, the man was able to strike despite the presence of security.
Anti-Putin
The attacker shouted anti-Putin and anti-fascist slogans, Belgian media report. Baudet was in Ghent at the invitation of the conservative student association KVHV. He will give a lecture on ‘the downfall of Europe’ in a building of Ghent University.
