Thief steals mega-expensive violin from train at CS Amsterdam

A violin worth more than 30,000 euros was stolen from an international train at Amsterdam Central Station on Sunday afternoon, October 29, around 4:30 PM. The train was about to leave for Germany. The police are looking for witnesses to the theft.

The police say that it is not just any violin, but a ‘special specimen’. The instrument is worth a lot of money. “The owner would like her violin back and the police are happy to arrest the perpetrator of the theft,” the police wrote. The instrument was in a rectangular and dark-colored case.

The police would like to get in touch with people who have more information. ‘The violin may have been offered for sale’, or ‘someone is suddenly playing this unique instrument’.
