Thibau Nys wins first world cup cross for promises, Wyseure just next to podium

Pretty soon in the cross a leading group with six riders formed. Wyseure, Nys, Verstrynge, Ronhaar, Michels and Witse Meeussen set out. Samuele Leone and Daviode Toneatti tried to bridge the gap with that six, but the Italians were unable to do so.

Verstrynge then had to let his companions ride and a little further on, the leading group exploded completely. Michels, Nys and Meeussen attacked. In the penultimate lap Meeussen also had to get off the front and we were left with only Nys and Michels in the battle for victory. The two continued to watch and bombard each other with various gears. In the end Nys turned out to be the fastest of the two. He is also the first leader in the U23 World Cup standings.
