Transfermarkt users have voted center forward Thiago from relegated Shimizu S-Pulse as player of the 2022 season in the Japanese J1 League. The 30-year-old Brazilian, who is represented by the Rogon agency, scored 20 goals (14 goals, 6 assists) in 27 league games for the founding member of the Japanese professional league last season.
He secured the title of top scorer ahead of Shonan Bellmare’s Shuto Machino (13 goals) and his compatriot Marcinio (12 goals) with Kawasaki Frontale – but even the left foot was unable to prevent relegation to the J2 League in the end. There Thiago will lead the ranking of the most valuable players in the new season that starts this weekend with his current market value of 1.80 million euros.
