Andy van der Meijde and his beloved Melisa Schaufeli are completely slaughtered by Angela de Jong. The opinion diva of the AD thinks they behave raunchy and stupid on television.
After a short TV break, Andy van der Meijde and Melisa Schaufeli are back on the TV with their real life soap Andy & Melisa. The two are not very popular, because the season premiere last Friday attracted very few viewers. Logical, Angela de Jong thinks.
Rancid and stupid
Angela tells in the AD Media podcast that she finds Andy & Melisa’s level very low. “I’ve never seen a docuseries so boring with two people who are so uninteresting and actually unattractive to watch. They kind of play like, oh, oh, oh, look at us being funny here.”
The problem is that they are not funny at all, according to Angela. “Three sentences and then Andy makes another joke about Melisa having to eat his sausage. It’s just all so much nonsense. Stupid entertainment, that’s it. I don’t understand how this is being made.”
Role or no role?
AD journalist Dennis Jansen does not believe that Andy and Melisa play a role. “I don’t think they play a role. At least, I was there for an afternoon and then they must have played a part to me, so to speak. I think they are themselves. I think they are like that.”
Colleague Marcus den Blanken finds this worrying. “They went straight to the botox clinic in the first episode. The whole family went with them, including the children. Everyone got a shot, Andy too. Not the children, but Andy did sweat in his armpits, because he went to Spain then and then it could well be that he started sweating.”
lousy bad
It is really completely levelless, according to Angela. “Judging by the viewing figures, you really do very few viewers any favors with this. 275 on a Friday night is really lousy.”
Andy & Melisa competes on Friday evening with Veronica Offside, in which Andy can be seen as a football analyst. That program is also poorly viewed.
