The orange tip is one of the twelve farmland butterflies, butterfly species that live in flowery grasslands. Other members of the club are the black-winged dikkopje, the large dikkopje, the small-veined white, the lesser firebutterfly, the brown firebutterfly, the brown sandeye, the orange sandeye, the icarus blue, the argus butterfly, the cow finch and the hay bug.
