What’s in store for the Irons with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on Thursday?
One thing is clear: the Berliners are favorites. “Yes, just by looking at the form and the fact that Union has a year more experience in Europe. This is new territory for Saint-Gilloise,” says Tony Leistner.
The ex-Union player has been under contract with St. Truiden in Belgium for a year. The defender about Union opponents: “If you have to play the game, you have problems. That’s why they will definitely stand deep and wait for counterattacks – but they are extremely dangerous there!”
Which players does Union have to watch out for?
Leistner: “In Dante Vanzeir they have a fast striker. That’s her best man. Technically, Teddy Teuma is very good, as is Loic Lapoussin. Along with Simon Adingra, they’re the players at Saint-Gilloise who really pack a punch in attack.
Advantage Union: Not only because of Sheraldo Becker, I think that Saint-Gilloise will have disadvantages in terms of pace.”
