Working as a model and stylist Maryam Razavi is a guest Teresa Välimäki and Kirre Rainonsen hosting the Perunaatetteri podcast.
Razavi used to do modeling for ten years. Because of his work, he spent a lot of time in the world.
Välimäki recalls in the podcast that he heard that Razavi was once in contact with a world-famous actor for his work, George Clooney with. Razavi answers Välimäki sounding like he was blushing.
– Yes, I was in an espresso commercial, Razavi says.
– I did it and it was a great experience.
Rainos, on the other hand, asks how the Finnish model ended up in the ad with Clooney. Razavi says that the way to the commercial was through traditional casting.
– I was in Milan at the time, and suddenly all the girls were invited to one mystery casting. We waited for hours to be allowed to show off for a second. Then I was called back, and the crowd got smaller and smaller.
He says that he went to no less than five castings related to the ad in question
– The office called and said that George Clooney has chosen you for this, that he had the power to decide who is in that ad.
The experience of working with Clooney was very positive.
– I had a photography ban and my office told me that you don’t faint or start laughing when you see Clooney. I was really careful when I realized how big a production it is. When I got there, George came to say, “Hi Maryam, it’s great to have you here with us.”
In the ad, Razavi made an espresso that Clooney came to buy.
– George Clooney left a really good feeling when he was so friendly and polite.
