“They are being tortured, humiliated, raped and mutilated in the Gaza Strip”

On Saturday morning last week (October 7th) at around 6:30 a.m. local time, the terrorist militia Hamas attacked the “Supernova Sukkot Gathering: Universo Paralello Israel” in the Negev Desert with machine guns and grenades. Around 300 people were killed in the attack, and numerous others were kidnapped or are still missing today. In recent days, more and more survivors have come forward to tell their stories and perspectives on what happened.

One of them is Raz Gaster. He was there as a promoter for a total of nine artists when the first rockets were fired at the festival. The colleagues from MUSIKEXPRESS spoke to Gaster. The promoter spoke about the tragic events and what his life and that of most other Israelis is currently like: “Many people are no longer working and many places are closed. You have to stay close to family and bunkers because the rocket attacks continue. The alarms are increasing every day, across the country. We try to do our best, but all of life stands still. Everything is so fragile and tense at the moment, and one can only speculate about what will happen next. You don’t know that. Nor whether Hezbollah or Iran will intervene. A lot of friends, colleagues and people were kidnapped. They are tortured, humiliated, raped and mutilated in the Gaza Strip. That’s why the most important thing right now is to bring these people back before Hamas executes or beheads them.”

Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Mark Hamill and Jamie Lee Curtis are among 700 Hollywood personalities who have written an open letter expressing their support for Israel amid the ongoing Hamas war. Celebrities such as Amy Schumer and Mayim Bialik also joined the campaign to speak out in favor of condemning the crimes committed by Hamas.

The letter was released on October 12 by the Creative Community For Peace (CCFP), an entertainment industry nonprofit organization. With the letter, the organization calls on all “friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry to speak out forcefully against Hamas and to do everything in their power to pressure the terrorist organization to return the innocent hostages to their families.” In addition, they urged everyone to stop the spread of misinformation.

The names of all signatories can be found on the CCFP website. The organization announced this via Instagram and once again called on everyone involved in the entertainment industry to do the same.

Hamas killed more than 1,200 people in an attack in southern Israel. Israel will “take the necessary steps to defend its citizens in the coming days,” according to CCFP. The Palestinian side reported more than 1,300 deaths as a result of Israeli air strikes by Friday afternoon.

Gal Gadot, who is herself Israeli: “My heart hurts for the lives lost and the families broken. “I pray for all those affected by Hamas’ terrorism and brutality, and I hope that the world remains steadfast in its support for the Israeli people.”

Like many other Hollywood personalities, the “Wonder Woman” actress had already published a few posts on the topic on her Instagram page.

Full letter from CCFP:

The nightmare that Israelis have feared for decades became a reality when Hamas terrorists invaded Israeli cities and towns.

Under the cover of thousands of rockets fired indiscriminately at civilians, Hamas murdered and kidnapped innocent men, women and children. They kidnapped and murdered infants and elderly people. They raped women and mutilated their bodies. They paraded their bodies in the streets and on social media and cowardly attacked the Supernova music festival – bringing death and destruction to an event that celebrated friendship and love.

This is terrorism. That is evil. There is no justification or rationalization for Hamas’ actions. These are barbaric acts of terrorism that must be denounced by everyone. It is a terrorist organization whose leaders call for the murder of Jews around the world.

The CCFP calls on our friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry to speak out forcefully against Hamas and to do everything in their power to pressure the terrorist organization to return the innocent hostages to their families.

As Israel takes the necessary steps to defend its citizens in the coming days and weeks, social media is being flooded by an orchestrated misinformation campaign led by Iran. We urge everyone to remember the terrible images from Israel and not to amplify the propaganda or fall for it.

Our thoughts are with all those who are experiencing unimaginable levels of fear and violence, and we hope for the day when Israelis and Palestinians can live side by side in peace.
