These ten cars are still worth the most after three years | Car

Are you looking for a car that depreciates the least after three years? Retain these models according to the independent UK Consumer Association WhatCar best their value.

Although the depreciation of a car is often less important to car buyers than things like fuel consumption, road tax and maintenance, it is still good to take this aspect into account. Depreciation is often a major expense for a car buyer. In fact, after three years, the depreciation often amounts to more than all other accounts combined.

The UK Consumers’ Association has retrieved residual value data for new cars in England and came up with a top 10 of models that lose the smallest percentage of their original new price. They only examined the depreciation of cars during the first three years and with a mileage of 58,000.

Lots of exotic models

While the UK car market may be at a level of detail – such as subsidy schemes for electric cars – deviates from the Dutch market, this top 10 gives a good indication of the Dutch situation. It is not surprising that there are some quite exotic cars on the list, but there are also some more regular cars to be found.

In tenth place is the latest Range Rover, which is expected to retain 75.3 percent of its new value after three years. The Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake is at nine with 75.8 percent. In eighth place is the Volkswagen California with 78.1 percent, in seven the Range Rover Evoque with 79.3 percent, followed by the Porsche Macan with 80.5 percent in six and in fifth place is the Porsche 718 Boxster Spyder with 81.3 percent value retention.

Lamborghini Urus

The top 4 consists of four expensive cars and is led by the Volkswagen Multivan with 82.8 percent. Third is the Porsche 718 Cayman with 83.6 percent and in second place the Lamborghini Urus with 85.9 percent. The champion when it comes to value retention is again a Porsche, namely the sports car 911, for which you still get 86.3 percent of the original new price after three years and 58,000 kilometers.

The percentages are significantly higher than last year’swhich is undoubtedly a result of the high raw material prices and the supply problems caused by the chip shortage in the automotive industry.
