The Bundesliga goes into the hot season phase. In the next four weeks, the decisions about titles, European Cup and descent are made. An overview.

There are still four game days out and the Bundesliga remains exciting – both at the top of the table and in the fight for Europe and relegation. While FC Bayern Munich is on the verge of the title, some clubs gripping duels are around European places. It also remains tight in the table cellar.

Werder Bremen has been the strongest team of the past few weeks with four victories in a row. The club has thus advanced to eighth place – and now looks at a comparatively feasible remaining program. Against St. Pauli, Union Berlin and Heidenheim, Bremen meets three teams that are clearly behind the Hanseatic League in the table. Only Leipzig, currently fourth, should become a challenge. The average rank of the upcoming opponents: 11.75.

Captain Marco Friedl said that he would look forward to more games in the coming season – and thus alludes to an ever possible participation in the European Cup. He would like to set up in the medium term in order to play again for higher goals. Werder belongs to him in an area in which there are floodlight games during the week and large teams are guests. The club has the potential – if everyone in the area.

In order to qualify for Europe, Werder would have to land in sixth place. Only if Stuttgart wins the DFB Cup and stays among the first six teams at the same time, is seventh seventh for the Conference League. The gap to six points is currently six points. Stuttgart himself has to compete against teams with an average rank of 11.00.

Borussia Dortmund has stabilized under coach Niko Kovač. The club climbed to seventh place from eleventh place. Two points are missing in sixth, three in fifth place – which would lead to the Europa League. The gap to a Champions League place is four points.

The remaining opponents could accommodate the Dortmunders: Hoffenheim, Wolfsburg, Leverkusen, Kiel and Bremen. The average rank is 11.75 – together with Werder the lightest remaining program in the upper half of the table. Sports director Sebastian Kehl announced that each of the remaining games wanted to tackle like a final. The income from the premier class is of great importance.

Meanwhile, FC Bayern can make the title fixed next weekend – if the Munich man win against Mainz and Bayer Leverkusen wins against Augsburg.

If the decision is delayed, Bavaria will continue against Leipzig, for Leverkusen against Freiburg. The average placement of the opponents: 8.50 at Bavaria, 7.00 at Leverkusen.

TSG Hoffenheim and FC St. Pauli have as table 15. and -14. Eight points ahead of the relegation place. Heavy opponents are still waiting – at Hoffenheim with an average rank of 7.25, at St. Pauli with 9.75 – but the distance gives security.

The 1. FC Heidenheim currently has the place on the relegation and meets Stuttgart, Bochum, Union and Bremen. The average rank of the opponents is 12.25 – Heidenheim has the lightest remaining program in the league, apart from Union. Coach Frank Schmidt made it clear: Now the decisive phase of the season is coming.

Bochum, two points behind Heidenheim, also meets opponents with the same average – including the direct duel with the FCH. In addition, the Union, Mainz and St. Pauli are waiting.

It will be particularly difficult for Holstein Kiel. As a bottom and with one point behind Bochum you can still meet Gladbach, Augsburg, Freiburg and Dortmund. The average rank of the opponents: 7.75 – the heaviest program in the table cellar.
