Space in the city is rare, allotment garden colonies have to give way again and again.

For years, more and more pipits have had to worry about their future – or have already been expelled!

Schlackeloch, Bleibtreu II and Schleusenland (Charlottenburg) colonies: 62 parcels are on the brink of extinction. The reason is the new construction of the Rudolf Wissell Bridge. The plots must make room for the construction site.

Garden friends Siemensstadt: Around 150 tenants had to vacate their plots in spring 2019. 1,000 new apartments are currently being built on the site in the “Halske Sonnengarten” quarter. The topping-out ceremony was celebrated in March.

Pankower Allee (Reinickendorf): The allotment garden was built in 1932 for BVG employees. Gesobau wants to build up to 150 apartments here, 22 of 86 parcels have to go. The Laubenpieper should actually give way at the end of 2022, the gallows period was extended until September 2024.
