About Gault&Millau
The Gault&Millau restaurant guide can be compared to the Michelin guide. With an important difference: at Gault&Millau, restaurants are symbolically awarded with chef’s hats instead of stars. The number of chef hats a restaurant receives depends on a number of factors. The taste of the dishes is of course important, but also the reception, advice for wine, atmosphere and much more.
Nineteen categories
A total of 842 restaurants in the Netherlands made it into the guide, with 70 newcomers. The restaurants are divided into nineteen categories, including best vegetable restaurant, best cocktail bar, but also most beautiful terrace and best sommelier.
