The fabric and sourcing fair Première Vision Paris has presented trend color palettes for the Fall/Winter 2023/2024 season.

(Flavour) palette with natural materials

The ecological responsibility of the fashion industry is becoming increasingly important. That’s why more attention than ever is paid to issues related to the dyeing of fabrics and materials. It is therefore not surprising that ‘natural’ colors and tones are preferred in this color palette. The result is a “palette of natural materials in flux, transformed by artisanal and experimental manipulations. Squeaky colors emerging from unusual recycling, sensitive decomposition and organic fermentation,” according to the press release. To break the “boring” look of these natural tones, this color palette for Autumn/Winter 2023/2024 is accentuated with nuances straight from the kitchen: “Tones of almost nauseous culinary ingredients, an ambiguous tenderness, energizing and vitamin-rich brightness. Sweet and savory combinations that create an ambiguous romance with provocative sweetness,” reads the description.

The versatility of grey

In the context of energy saving, aesthetic and technical innovations are based on an economic creative approach, rich in ideas and modest in means. This color palette is heavily influenced by the collaboration between craft virtuosity and industrial expertise. In the Fall/Winter 2023-2024 colors, this means an elemental neutrality that focuses on the nuances and versatility of grey: soft or imposing greys, essential or maximalist nuances; green, warm, metallic depigmented or dull gray tones; deep or light gray tones. “A sober color scheme as an accomplice to opulence for an obvious luxury of moderation. A discretion that elevates anonymity to the ultimate originality,” says the trade fair.

dissonant tensions

References to antiquity and classicism play a role as creative inspiration for this color palette. Relics are the subject of contemporary reinterpretations, triggering irreverent appropriations and freely anachronistic aesthetic fusions. This is expressed in the colors through dissonant tensions between the pigment strength of the dark colors, the brilliance of the light colors and the sophisticated intensity of the strong colors. They are continuous and decadent contrasts that reflect a multitude of realities. “Useful radicalism, seductive brutality or self-confident futility collide. Trivial encounters between rigor and impertinence that challenge classicism to free itself from outdated codes and open up alternative aesthetic perspectives.”

Colors: Remnant Blue, Menthol Bubble, Controversial Pink, Syrah Red, Epilogue Green, Radical Brown, Red Evidence, Blue Intuition, Midnight Green, Trivial Violet.
