On the annual “Global Beatles Day” on June 25th, a movement launched by fans receives the highest honor. Apple Corps Ltd. officially recognizes the initiative and presents the Fab Four’s followers with various events to mark their anniversary, and also announces “worldwide face-to-face and online events”.

The origin of this day of action lies in the “Summer of Love”. On June 25, 1967, John, Paul, George and Ringo made television history: As part of the world’s first international live satellite broadcast “Our World”, they performed their anthem “All You Need Is Love” in front of around 400 million viewers in London’s Abbey Road Studios. In 2009, female fan Faith Cohen decided to keep this global sense of community alive and created Global Beatles Day.

What began as an intimate fan meeting has evolved over the years into an intercontinental phenomenon – from exhibitions in New York to sing-along concerts in Buenos Aires to events in Tokyo and Liverpool. This year’s day of action will be officially recognized by Apple Corps, the band’s rights manager.

To this day, millions of people make pilgrimages to the legendary locations of the band’s history. Above all, Abbey Road Studios in London, where fans line up every day to recreate the zebra crossing cover. The pilgrimage sites will soon be expanding: As was recently announced, Savile Row 3 – the historic location of their very last rooftop concert – is to be transformed into a new highlight. The first official fan experience will open its doors there from 2027.
