The morning after the 5-2 defeat at Schalke 04, Hertha coach Sandro Schwarz left the training ground in the car with his suitcase packed. WHILE his players were still training. How would things continue at Hertha without him?
According to BZ information, two approaches are said to be discussed in the club’s executive floor: an internal and cost-effective solution. Here U23 coach Ante Covic (47/ 2019 already for 12 Bundesliga games Hertha head coach, 2 wins) and/or U19 coach Oliver Reiß (40) could get the confidence for the pros.
The alternative could be for multimillionaire investor 777 to step in and put money in to bet on a bigger name. The name Marcus Gisdol (53/formerly HSV, Hoffenheim, Cologne) was mentioned in the environment.
This would fit: 777 Sporting Director Johannes Spors has already worked with Gisdol twice (in Hoffenheim and at HSV).
Hertha had delivered a catastrophic performance on Friday evening at Schalke in the 2: 5 against the direct competitor for relegation. And the bosses, who actually wanted to stick to black, so well made to rethink.
Hertha sports director Benjamin Weber (43) after the game to BZ: “We will not open a personnel discussion here on site. But it’s also clear that we’re going to go home now and analyze the game completely. I won’t announce anything here, but we’ll talk. That was a slap in the face.”
