Some of the Hollywood stars are banned from the Oscars forever.
Not all Hollywood stars are welcome at the Oscars. In some cases, the ban is eternal, in others it is temporary.
Will Smith

French-Polish director Polanski, 90, was banned in 2018. The reason was that in 1977 Polanski had drugged a 13-year-old girl and sexually exploited her. Polanski has avoided traveling to countries that would extradite him to the United States.
