Borussia Dortmund has long been busy again when it comes to preparing for the upcoming season. This not only applies to the Bundesliga team, but also to BVB’s U23 team, which competes in the 3rd division. The latter says goodbye to the summer training camp in Tyrol at the weekend – but by no means with the best cast.
The reason for this is the professional team. A large number of young talents from Dortmund have been able to prove themselves there in the past few days, as the squad of licensed players was still quite thin due to injuries and the later start of training by the national team.
Head coach Edin Terzic had already announced during the first BVB friendly on Wednesday evening in Hamm-Rhynern (7-0) that “everyone will have their chance”.
According to a report by “Ruhr Nachrichten”, several young hopefuls who actually belong to the U23 squad are now allowed to continue training with the professionals for the time being. In addition to the two-goal scorer from Wednesday’s test, Paul Besong, that also applies to youngsters Nnamdi Collins (19 years old), Guille Bueno (20 years old) and Prince Aning (19 years old).
BVB II coach thanks Terzic
This quartet will continue to work with the professional team in Dortmund-Brackel over the coming days and ensure that Edin Terzic has a full squad available for the practice sessions.
Next week, all convalescents should be involved in training as far as possible, and the national players who were recently on vacation will also start full team training again.
BVB II coach Jan Zimmermann thanked his colleague Edin Terzic for the “great cooperation” and the good permeability between the teams, which benefited the last two teams.
