The quarters of the 21 teams that have qualified so far for the European Football Championship in Germany this summer have been determined. The European football union UEFA published the locations. These range from Norderstedt near Hamburg to Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
“Germany has a big advantage. It is the largest country and has the largest association in terms of footballers and clubs. There are more training grounds, more training centers,” explained UEFA competition director Martin Kallen at the SpoBis sports business congress in Hamburg.
“We worked very well with the cities, with the municipalities, with the clubs,” said the Swiss. Good suggestions were made to the associations. The teams have been traveling to their quarters for two years.
The German national team will move into its European Championship quarters with partner Adidas on May 31st in Herzogenaurach. Adidas CEO Björn Gulden and DFB President Bernd Neuendorf had confirmed this the day before at SpoBis.
