Amazon is one of the most popular and most frequented online shops in the world. Thousands of orders from a wide variety of categories are received every day. For its 25th anniversary in Germany, Amazon has now revealed the products that were particularly popular with customers.
In October 1995, Amazon’s online shop went live at amazon.com. Three years later, from October 15, 1998, German customers could also order on amazon.de. At that time, the shop mainly offered books, but Amazon quickly expanded its product selection. Today you can buy almost anything your heart desires on Amazon. From electronics to books and media as well as clothing and cosmetics to food. As part of its 25th anniversary, the online retailer announced which goods customers from Germany ordered particularly frequently in the list of the most popular products.
The 25 most popular products on Amazon
Amazon filtered out a total of 25 products that were most frequently purchased via amazon.de over the past 25 years. The retailer lists them in alphabetical order, so it is not clear how often the individual products were actually sold and which products made it into the top 3.
We have filtered the 25 listed products by category for a better overview. Included are goods from the areas of electronics, fashion, household and health as well as books and music.
electronics
Unsurprisingly, there are quite a few electronics products among the most popular Amazon products. The in-house devices in particular made it into the selection. But you can also find products from Apple, as well as from Anker. Kindle devices, the Fire TV, the Echos and Anker products have long been sold exclusively through Amazon, which is why their appearance on the list is hardly surprising.
- Amazon Basics High Speed Cable, Ultra HD HDMI 2.0
- Anker charger 24W with 2-port USB and PowerIQ for iPhone, iPad, Samsung Galaxy, Nexus, HTC, Motorola, LG and many more
- Apple AirPods with wired charging case
- AVM WLAN repeater 310
- Echo Smart Speaker
- Fire TV streaming media player
- Kindle eReader
- SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 Flash Drive 64GB
The AirPods are the first generation of Apple’s headphones, which caused a sensation when they were introduced on September 7, 2016. Unfortunately, Amazon does not name the exact versions of the in-house Echo or Kindle models in the list of the most popular products. Based on the name, it can be assumed that these could be early models. The Kindle 3 had a haptic keyboard and was the first e-book reader from Amazon that was also available in Germany. The retailer sold it in this country from April 2011. It is followed by models with touchscreens, such as the Kindle 4 or the Kindle Touch, both of which Amazon presented in 2011. A year later, in 2012, the first Kindle Paperwhite followed.
