At the start of the ‘KO’ phase of the Europa League, few would have predicted that Rangers and Eintracht Frankfurt would appear in Seville on May 18 to play in the grand final. But European competitions sometimes have this, that the ‘big ones’ fall so that the ‘little ones’ can get their hopes up even for a day.
Eintracht and Rangers play a title in a single game, in a very even final where perhaps the Germans will start with some advantage. Those from Frankfurt have ‘charged’ the great favorite, FC Barcelona, and have Filip Kostic in their ranks, one of the most decisive players in the competition. The Serbian will obviously be in the game, as will Tavernier, the great Rangers star.
The right-handed winger is the top scorer in the Europa League and Van Bronckhorst’s main offensive weapon, in his three-centre system. The Dutch coach changes little for this great final, an idea that Oliver Glasner, Eintracht coach, also shares.
