These are the largest and most beautiful magnolia trees in Zoetermeer

After our call for the largest magnolia tree in Zoetermeer, our mailbox was filled with the most beautiful photos. What seems? A magnolia tree apparently evokes so many emotions, memories and pride in people.

For example, we hear stories about Zoetermeer residents who take a detour every day past their favorite magnolia tree. Walkers who take selfies for social media, and even people who secretly cut a few twigs for their home at dusk with their scissors.

It is difficult to determine which magnolia tree is the largest in Zoetermeer. One is very large in height, the other in width. One tree consists of one trunk, the other of several. But what does it matter? They are all beautiful. Watch!

Weteringdreef (Seghwaert)

Proud owner and photographer: Ineke van der Kleij

Fun fact: “This is him then. Our beautiful old magnolia. It was already there when we moved here in February 1995. The previous residents had probably already planted it when this house was completed in 1980. We had never had a garden before because we moved from a flat in The Hague.
So everything that came up in the garden, every blade, every flower, was received with curiosity. So is the big tree with those big buds. The buds came out with the first rays of the sun in spring: what a beauty! And we still enjoy the abundance of flowers every year. It is always a sign that winter is really over.”
