Especially tip three is a real life hack.
1. Too much detergent
Many cleaning products, especially soapy products, can almost make your floor look a little greasy if they’re not in the right proportion to the water you’re mopping with. A small splash or drop of cleaning agent is often enough for a bucket full of soapy water to mop, because your floor is not that dirty after you have vacuumed it first.
Do you have a dirtier floor, for example because of a dog that walked into the house with dirty paws? Then it is better to tackle those spots with a little more cleaning agent first, and only then mop the entire floor with a little less cleaning agent.
2. Too wet
There is no need to scrub your floor with a very wet mop. Not only does it take longer for the floor to dry again, it also does not make the floor cleaner and with a bit of bad luck you will see dried water rings. So thank you. Instead, mop the floor with a damp, but not soaked mop. If you feel that the floor is not yet completely shiny, it is better to mop again with a little water than with a lot of water in one go.
3. Hot water
This one may feel a bit strange, but mopping the floor with warm or even hot water is a waste of all your hard work. Because warm or hot water evaporates quickly on an area the size of a floor, detergent residues often remain on the floor that could not evaporate as quickly. Then you get a greasy and spotty result after your brushing and that is of course not what you want. Instead, dissolve your detergent in lukewarm or cold water. It will then take a little longer for the floor to dry again, but the result is guaranteed to be better!
