In a poll by OnBuy.com 4,528 people chose their favorites from 100 well-known album artworks. This resulted in a top ten that shows which album covers are perceived as particularly remarkable worldwide.
Album classics from almost 70 years of music history made it onto the list, including Elvis Presley’s self-titled album, which was released in 1956. The self-titled album by The Velvet Underground & Nico is also one of the most popular artworks – although the survey also revealed that only 24 percent of those surveyed had actually heard the album. It’s different with “Born In The USA” by Bruce Springsteen: 41 percent of the participants heard it.
