According to professionals, permanent bending is currently the most popular eyelash treatment. Few people want just eyelash dyeing anymore, which was sometimes a popular treatment, for example when visiting a hairdresser.

Then there was a corona pandemic, during which time everyone forgot about all sorts of settling. No mascara was spent, and no time in beauty salons.

Now that life is showing signs of normalization again as the pandemic plaguing the world subsides, spectacle has become a new trend that dominates both the fashion and beauty worlds. It has also brought back eyelash extensions, the popularity of which has long since started to rise again.

Many stars rely on false eyelashes in their looks, but more ordinary walkers want ready-made eyelashes – beautiful and natural. Young mothers, for example, are once again excited about eyelash extensions, which speed up mornings considerably.

Kim Kardashian sets the trends

What is trendy in eyelash extensions is determined by the reality TV family Kardashians, according to industry experts. Many come to the reception in hopes of having as good-looking lashes as Kim K.

– Many people want a so-called Kim effect on their lashes, in which light rays are added to the volume lashes, which makes the lashes visibly more chaotic and of different lengths, says Ksenia Kavalenka.

Now the most desired style is the so-called wet look lashes, which look like you just came out of the shower.

– The desired lash line is now broken and bushy. Volume lashes are the most popular of all. Few people want classic eyelash extensions anymore, says a lash technician Heini Östring From Blue Lagoon Beauty Salon.

Shower lashes are volume lashes in which the so-called mascara fan is not opened. The end result is textured and wet-looking – as if you had just risen from the pool.

– Wet-looking lashes could be compared to it if your own lashes were very thick and you put a lot of mascara on them. For wet-looking lashes, the technician mixes “fans” of different lengths and different thicknesses. The end result looks broken, Östring continues.

According to Kavalenka, a moist look is suitable for anyone because of its naturalness. He also mentions the arrow-lashed lashes as a trend. Colored and otherwise more artistic lashes are also desired. Any color can be added to the black mascara fibers.

– In summer, neon-colored lashes are popular, because they shine in the dark and make you every party, Kavalenka glows.

With the natural trend, dark brown eyelash extensions in particular have become popular. According to Kavalenka, they are especially suitable for elections.

Only a few want classic extensions anymore

What is the difference between classic eyelash extensions and volume eyelashes?

In classic lashes, the fibers are thicker and one false lash is attached to one lash. With classic eyelash extensions, you don’t really get volume or fullness in the eyes, but length even in front of it. Mascara fibers are thicker than their own lashes.

Volume lash fibers, on the other hand, are more fluffy. An eyelash fan with up to ten lashes is attached to one lash. In terms of volume lashes, the possibilities are more varied.

Eyelash extensions can be put on virtually anyone. If you have previously been sensitive to eyelash extensions or have an acrylate allergy, then you should forget about eyelash extensions. Inflammation of the eye or nipple, for example, are also obstacles to applying eyelash extensions.

To keep your lashes beautiful, they should be cared for no more than every four weeks. For example, pregnancy can make the surface of your own lashes slippery and impair the durability of the glue, so the lashes should be serviced every 2-3 weeks. Wet-looking lash extensions are quite long-lasting, as the broken line does not necessarily need to be serviced as often.

– At home, the most important thing is to wash and brush your lashes regularly. Oil-based eye care products must not be used, as this can weaken the gluing of the lashes and otherwise pull the lashes into the lump, Östring reminds.

The use of eyelashes and mascara with extensions should also be avoided.

The cheap price indicates the level of education

Unsuccessful horror lashes occasionally pop up on social media, for example, when someone has put on lash extensions and the end result is shocking. Poorly placed lashes can cause red eye inflammation in the eyes, the lashes may be glued together, or too much fiber may be attached to one lash, and eventually your own lashes may become loose due to heavy extensions.

Östring emphasizes that when purchasing eyelash extensions, it is worth finding out what kind of background and training the trainee has. The industry is unattended and virtually anyone could do eyelash extensions.

– The cheap price usually means that the training is not right, Östring says.
