As we wrote before: the perfect trend for summer is home-made, crocheted clothes and accessories. Peters assures the same.

– Crocheted and knitted bags, blankets, scarves and clothes are a big trend. In these you can see the color and home texture. The material, especially in these, is organic cotton thread. We predict that these will be a big hit this spring-summer season.

Another big phenomenon are ragged, street-credible and worn-out clothes that resemble uniforms familiar from outdoor work sites.

– The focus of the relaxed utilitarian trend is pants with thigh pockets and other clothes with pockets, as well as oversized pilot jackets.

Other popular items of clothing are oversized leather jackets, blazers and suit pants.

– Vintage leather clothes continue to be popular sales hits: they last well over time and years of use. At the same time, purchasing one used is of course also an ethical option, says Peters.

– All Y2K clothes familiar from zero are now the most wanted and extremely popular. The best sellers are corsets and low-waisted jeans, Peters opens.

Peters also highlights an interesting phenomenon. Vintage shoppers also start trends and not the other way around.

– Varsity jackets are a good example of this. Before they were officially a trend and they were seen in the collections of Offwhite, Coach and Burberry, among others, they were already hunted for in vintage fashion. Designers are inspired and reinterpreted by street style phenomena, and vintage consumers are often at the forefront of the latest trends.

In autumn and winter, rich, decorative woolen sweaters become a big trend. Especially the models from the 80s and 90s are a popular phenomenon. Of course, these are often used in the Finnish summer as well.

Beyond Retro opened its first store in Finland in the Forum shopping center in the center of Helsinki in late autumn.
