According to the statement made by Trabzonspor Club, Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu and Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Atilla Ataman visited the burgundy-blue club before the Basel match.


During the visit to the Mehmet Ali Yılmaz Facilities, Ustaoğlu stated that Trabzonspor contributed to the earthquake victims in a short time with its aid, and said:


“Trabzonspor has pioneered the campaigns. There can be no better social responsibility than this. 500 trucks of aid have been delivered to the region from Trabzon, which has a brand like Trabzonspor, to the region. Now it continues to fulfill its duty by hosting earthquake victims. We are already hosting over 3 thousand earthquake victims in our province. We thank those who opened their homes and hotels.”


Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, Ataman, said that not only in the earthquake area, but also in Trabzon, about 500 people applied to them to give their houses to the earthquake victims.


Club Secretary General Ömer Sağıroğlu pointed out that there will be no cheering in the stands during the Basel match, and said:


“Our fans will bring toys while coming to the match, and these toys will be immediately sent to the earthquake zone for our children affected by the earthquake. If our citizens affected by the earthquake want to come to the match, we can welcome them. We would also like to thank our Minister of Youth and Sports, Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, who allocated the entire tribune to our club for the Basel match and contributed to the earthquake victims.”


Trabzonspor Vice President Zeyyat Kafkas and board members Sami Karaman, Lokman Sadıklar, Zafer Göktaş and Coşkun Öztürk were also present during the visit.
