According to him, a decision on the second DFB director alongside Rudi Völler will be made “soon”. The 1990 world champion said this in the “Sport1” program “Doppelpass”.
“There have already been talks,” said Völler, referring to the task force at the German Football Association. “There are good constellations with important people who will change something. Something is being pushed to make German football better again.”
According to earlier “Bild” information, the three candidates are former world champions Sami Khedira and Per Mertesacker and sports director Oliver Ruhnert from Bundesliga club Union Berlin.
Völler has been director of the men’s national team since February 1st. We are still looking for a manager for the areas of responsibility for the academy and young talent. A decision is made by the DFB Presidium.
