There is movement in the case of the disappearance of Maddie McCann: “Evidence found in motorhome German suspect” | Abroad

An “object” belonging to the toddler was found in the camper van of the German suspect in the disappearance of McCann, the Daily Mirror newspaper reported.

Madeleine McCann disappeared on May 3, 2007 just before her fourth birthday at the Ocean Club holiday complex in Praia da Luz, Portugal. Last month, 45-year-old German Christian Brückner was formally declared a suspect.

At the time of the girl’s disappearance, he was living in a white and yellow campervan, according to the Mirror. An “object” that belongs to “Maddie” has now been found in it, a Portuguese police source said. However, her DNA would not have been found.

The German prosecutor investigating the case would neither confirm nor deny the report.

Nevertheless, he said on Portuguese television on Tuesday evening that “new facts have been found, not forensic evidence, but evidence,” according to the Daily Mail. The magistrate added that he is convinced that the toddler has been murdered and that Brückner is the perpetrator.

The suspect is currently serving a seven-year prison sentence in Germany for raping an American woman in Praia da Luz.
