While employers are eager for technical personnel, students at HAVO and VWO are increasingly opting for a technical profile. Preliminary figures from Statistics Netherlands show that the share of students who obtain a diploma with an emphasis on technical subjects has been declining for three years in a row. Nothing remains of the previously achieved gains in this area.
