There are two Michelin restaurants in Estonia

Two Estonian restaurants receive a Michelin star and five restaurants receive Bib Gourmand recognition.

Estonia’s first Michelin guide has been published. Estonia is the first of the Baltic countries to receive its own guide.

Michelin inspectors have recommended 31 restaurants “because of the excellence of their culinary offerings”.

The Michelin team independently and anonymously evaluates the food supply of restaurants on the basis of five criteria: quality of ingredients, control of cooking technology, harmony of tastes, manifestation of the chef’s personality in the portions, consistency of the menu, including over time

The stars were awarded to Noa Chef’s Hall and 180 ° by Matthias Diether. Both are located in Tallinn.

Noa Chef’s Hall is located in the same restaurant as Noa. The large windows of the restaurants overlook the Gulf of Tallinn and the Gulf of Finland.

Five restaurants received Bib Gourmand recognition are given to restaurants that offer excellent taste experiences at affordable prices. Five restaurants have been selected for the Michelin Guide based on excellent value for money:

NOA (Tallinn): Stunning views of the city and the sea, exceptionally fresh fish.

Härg (Tallinn): Brasserie restaurant open all day. Among the preferred contemporary dishes, grilled dishes are preferred, especially steaks.

Fellin (Viljandi): The café-restaurant serves carefully prepared traditional European dishes.

Lore Bistro (Tallinn): The modern bistro is located in an old warehouse in the port of Noblessner. The food portions are meant to be distributed and have been inspired by the owners ’travels.

Mantel and Korsten (Tallinn): Mediterranean cuisine is accompanied by quality organic and biodynamic wines.

In addition to the restaurants awarded with stars or the Bib Gourmand recognition, the Estonian guide highlights a wide range of restaurants from very different styles across the country.

For example, Ruhe in the village of Neeme offers fine fish dishes, while Lee Restaurant in Tallinn offers Asian flavors and Gianni takes diners to Italy. Fii in Tartu will be highlighted, as will Wicca in Laulasmaa and Mere 38 in Võsu.
