Flying far away from Berlin? Not that easy. The following destinations are currently on offer on long-haul routes with a direct connection: New York, LA, Beijing, Singapore and Doha. Fort Lauderdale will be added as of the winter schedule.

The destinations are clear. Of course, Berlin has never been a hub and will never become one. But at least there were once many more direct connections, all of which have been cut.

Including: Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto, Bangkok, Miami, Mombasa, Varadero, Punta Cana and of course Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia. Everything deleted. Reasons: Too few bookings in Business Class, the terrorist attacks of September 11th.

With the demise of Air Berlin (autumn 2017), many US connections were lost, which have not been replaced to this day.

Next new destination: From 2023 there will again be a direct connection between Berlin and Washington DC. United Airlines originally wanted to offer the route this summer. Now it starts in May next year. The last time there was this non-stop flight was in 2001.
