The corona outbreak at the second division soccer team Fortuna Düsseldorf is getting bigger and bigger.
On Wednesday, after a series of PCR tests, Fortuna reported twelve more cases “among players and members of the coaching and functional team”. Those affected have gone into quarantine.
The total number of cases in the club thus adds up to 20. Six players, coach Daniel Thioune and an athletic trainer had previously been infected. “Unfortunately, despite all the measures, the Corona wave hit us hard,” said sports director Christian Weber.
