Tim Hofman seems to be quite annoyed by Marcel van Roosmalen’s constant criticism that he very often draws attention to himself. “Then he will have another TIA!”
The way in which Tim Hofman presents himself bothers Marcel van Roosmalen immensely. He accuses the presenter of suffering from the messiah complex and the gentlemen have also had arguments about this on TV. A few weeks ago Tim was completely ridiculed in the talk show Van Roosmalen & Groenteman.
First time on TV
It apparently affects Tim, because he no longer even dares to say on television that he is not doing well after the recent murder threat against him. He was at the table on the talk show last night Khalid & Sophie.
Host Khalid Kasem: “Nice to have you here. It’s actually the first time you’ve been on TV since September 6, the day a man walked into the BNNVARA building with a knife and a gun and the plan to kill you.”
Tim combative: “It didn’t work.”
TIA
Khalid is happy with that. “No Fortunately not. How are you?”
Tim doesn’t dare to answer that completely honestly. “Oh, um, yeah… I’ve been thinking about this question. If I say: ‘Very good’, I’m downplaying it, but if I say ‘very bad’, Marcel van Roosmalen gets another TIA because I’m acting out, so it’s okay.”
Khalid: “You don’t care about that at all, do you?”
‘Continue with work’
No, then claim Tim. “No. It’s alright. I’m sitting here, I’m still alive, my mother is happy with it, my father is happy with it and I’m continuing with my work.”
What does Tim think of the criticism of the BOOS special he made about this dangerous man? “It’s a bit of a crazy thing. What that man tried to do was kill a journalist, but I am also a victim in that case and as a victim I was allowed to see those interrogations and I simply took them with me to the editors.”

Not the papers, but the information. “And I made a broadcast about that. That is actually a statement of facts with an opinion from experts.”
According to experts, this is undesirable. Tim disagrees. “I simply took advice from my counsel, from the Public Prosecution Service. I’m not crazy. I don’t want to get in the way of that lawsuit, we didn’t do that. There’s no indication of that, so I think we were able to make what we made very well.”
