Then keep swimming… Matthieu Bonne still has seven kilometers to go | Bruges

To be able to write the world record to his name, Bonne has to cover 127 kilometers in open water. According to the latest – correct – reports, he is now about 121 kilometers. The tracking system indicated that he had already passed the record, but that appears to be because the system follows the boat that accompanies him. And that boat swings up and down much more, so that a greater distance is recorded than the distance covered by Matthieu.

Matthieu has been swimming non-stop in Greece’s Gulf of Corinth since Thursday morning to reach his goal. He had a hard time because of the sleep deprivation and the cold. For example, he suffered from hallucinations and his sense of taste decreased sharply. But despite everything, the finish line is in sight.

Bonne often delivers an impressive performance. This world record attempt in swimming comes just five months after Matthieu shattered a world record in cycling in Arizona at the end of March. He cycled 3,619 kilometers in seven days. Earlier he also swam the Belgian coastline.
