Listen to Thees Uhlmann’s new single for the soundtrack of his movie “Sophia, der Tod und ich” here.
Thees Uhlmann is releasing his new single “No matter what I’ll do, I’ve always thought of you” today (24 August). The singer thus contributes a very fresh piece to the soundtrack of the film adaptation of his novel “Sophia, der Tod und ich”. However, the majority of the film soundtrack was created by the musician duo Steiner & Madlaina from Zurich. “I’m very proud of Steiner & Madlaina for composing such a wonderful Swiss-Americana soundtrack for the ‘Sophia, der Tod und ich’ film,” enthuses Uhlmann about the musicians in the press release for the track release. “It’s much better than if I had done it, labored and groaned to get something right for my North-German erotic-neurotic death novella.”
The film will be released in cinemas on August 31 and marks Charly Hübner’s directorial debut. Uhlmann’s 2015 bestselling novel is brought to life by actors such as Anna Maria Mühe, Dimitrij Schaad and Marc Hosemann and tells the story of the protagonist Reiner, at whose door death appears one night. This is followed by an eventful trip to Reiner’s mother and his seven-year-old son.
Thees Uhlmann’s previous single “Club 27” was released more than two years ago, in April 2021. The song was written by the German writer Benjamin von Stuckrad-Barre.
