Theater spectacle Het Pauperparadijs is back in Veenhuizen

After having performed in the Prison Museum a number of times, the theater spectacle made a trip to Royal Theater Carré. But now they are back on familiar ground. From June 6 this year, the theater spectacle Het Pauperparadijs can be seen again in Veenhuizen.

The cast of the show was announced this afternoon. There are old acquaintances among them, but also a few new faces. They will take the stage 55 times in the museum. Of which 51 performances, 3 try-outs and 1 premiere.

Producer Wolter Lommerde is happy that they are back in Veenhuizen. “Tens of thousands of people still want to see the performance. So we actually had the plan to do it in 2018, but then Carré came in between. It is difficult to find space for a theater piece there, so we did that at that time. we will come right back in 2020, but then corona came.”

After corona, the company had to deal with uncertainty about the nitrogen rules in 2022, but that has now been resolved with the province. The permit is secured for the next two years. “The rules are stricter, but a lot clearer,” says Lommerde.

Now it’s finally that time again. According to Lommerde, Het Pauperparadijs belongs in Veenhuizen. “The theater piece is the most beautiful here. And we had two sold-out editions in 2016 and 2017. So that’s why we really wanted to return to the Prison Museum.”
