A fire raged in the kitchen of the De Winsinghhof theater in Roden last night.
Around a quarter to two, a security guard alerted the fire brigade after he saw the kitchen full of smoke. Fire brigades from Roden, Peize, Norg, Eelde and Groningen responded to extinguish the fire. They rammed doors and windows to get to the fire and were later able to enter the monumental building.
It is unclear how the fire started. According to the Drenthe Safety Region, the fire was quickly extinguished, but it is not known how extensive the damage to the theater is.
