Thea Jetten is the party leader for GroenLinks in the Provincial Council elections in 2023.
This was decided by the members’ meeting of GroenLinks Limburg on Saturday.
Group chairman
Jetten, who comes from Arcen, has been a member of the Limburg Parliament since March 2019. In October of that year she took over the parliamentary leadership from Pepijn Baneke, who was going to combine his duties as a Member of Parliament with the councilorship in Mook and Middelaar. In addition to her task as party leader, Jetten also chaired the trust committee that nominated Emile Roemer as the new governor last year.
‘Smashing election result’
Jetten is happy with her election as party leader: “I am extremely motivated to achieve a solid election result for and on behalf of GroenLinks Limburg and thus contribute to a social and sustainable Limburg. Together with the current deputy and the rest of the future candidate list, We are aiming for a spectacular election result with the ambition to continue to lead.” GroenLinks currently has four seats in the Limburg Parliament.
2023
It will take a while before it is possible to vote for the Limburg Parliament. The Provincial Council elections will be held on March 15, 2023.
