The zoo and animal park send 20 tons of feed to Ukraine

Animals in Ukraine are also suffering from the invasion of Putin’s troops. Support comes from Berlin.

Zoo and Tierpark have already donated almost 20 tons of feed to Ukrainian zoos. Including 750 kilos of zebra, 1225 kilos of giraffe and 1125 kilos of rhino feed. More than 80,000 euros have already been received in a donation account.

Employees first brought the donated food to Warsaw, where Polish zoo keepers loaded it into minibuses. Ukrainian transporters then deliver the goods to zoos in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa and elsewhere.

“We quickly got over our initial bewilderment and pulled out all the stops to provide quick and effective help,” says zoo and animal park director Andreas Knieriem (56). “We are overwhelmed by this willingness to donate.”
