The year of the musical renaissance?

In a world that remains unpredictable, planning or projecting in any area is almost a fantasy. Until less than a month ago, it seemed that after two very crazy years, this time we could once again set our sights on the near horizon. But –and without going into questions related to epidemiology that do not correspond to this column-, other alarm lights are beginning to light on how the 2022 period will develop, to the point that, by case, at the time of the closing of this note, several localities began to reinstate some restrictions.

That said, however, betting on the optimism and good decisions of our leaders, perhaps 2022 will be the year of a small and new renaissance. And if the economy also accompanies, Argentina, and especially Buenos Aires, can be put back in that place of great international cultural concentration to which we have been accustomed for decades.

If all that happens, there will be some salient points that will attract the attention of the press and the public especially. Because of his history, because it was announced as the last tour of his life, because of the emotional closeness that unites him to our country, the concerts of Joan Manuel Serrat they will be at the highest point. For now, three shows are on sale at the Movistar Arena for the month of November, but no one doubts that there will be several more and that perhaps a football stadium could be added.

Other important points will be the festivals Lolapalooza and Quilmes Rock. The first will take place between March 18 and 20 at the San Isidro Racecourse and will bring together a huge list of national and international figures, with Miley Cyrus, A $ ap Rocky, The Strokes, Doja Cat, Foo Fighters and Martin Garrix to the head. The other, in Tecnópolis on 4/30 and 5/1, with Gorillaz, Fito Páez, Nathy Peluso, Vicentico, Trueno and Catupecu Machu as main attractions.

For the rest, there will be for different tastes: Rauw Alexander (Luna Park, 2/18), The Kjarkas (Luna Park, 11/3), Marky ramone (The Flower Theater, 12/3), Jose Luis Perales (Movistar Arena, 12/3), Diego El Cigala (Great Rex, 3/26), the several times postponed show of Toquinho and María Creuza (Great Rex, 1/4), Maroon 5 (Polo Field, 8/4), Ricardo Montaner (Luna Park, in April), Richie hawtin (Luna Park, 4/29), Jorge Drexler (Great Rex, 6 to 8/5), Sergio Dalma (Luna Park, 6/5), Il Divo (Luna Park, 8/5), Louis Tomlinson (Movistar Arena, 21 and 22/5).

They follow Zoe gotusso (Great Rex, 5/22), Khalid (Luna Park, 16/6), Erasure (Movistar Arena, 23/7), Ricardo Arjona (Movistar Arena, in August), George Harris (Luna Park, 8/17), Dua Lipa (Hipódromo de Palermo, 9/13), the great Marisa monte (Great Rex, 9/23), Nightwish (Luna Park, 10/16), Colplay (with the return of the shows to River, in October), Michael buble (Movistar Arena, 11/12) and another many times reprogrammed, the virtuoso American guitarist Pat metheny that he would arrive in the first week of October to play at the Gran Rex theater.

To that, if everything goes as expected, a few more names must be added by Ezeiza and many Argentines (Palito Ortega, Pimpinela, Tini) who are also programming massive concerts and selling their tickets for this year that begins.
