The wrapper went back to work

The wrapper has not rested on his laurels since his comeback.

The winder, or Jere Pöyhönen, 29, has been in world-class spinning for the past few days. But so has his brother, a photographer Mikke Pöyhönen.

On Sunday, Mikke returned with Jere on the same plane from Finland to Finland.

– Jere was sitting in the front part of the plane, but before landing the captain announced that Käärijä was on board. There was a big round of applause from the plane and Jere walked down the aisle of the plane waving, says Mikke, who was contacted by Iltalehti.

The wrapper received a world-class reception in Finland. PDO

An unforgettable reception

A mass of fans was waiting on the field and Käärijä was taken like a liter.

– After all, it was mania like someone else’s With Justin Bieber! I will never forget. You wanted to cry, Mikke describes.

– It was known that there were fans in front, but it still surprised me. Just like the reception of the lacrosse team that won the world championship, the man continues.

Mikke himself intentionally stayed behind the scenes.

– Lets the brother shine. My thing is capturing the shine, he states modestly.

Right to work

From the hustle and bustle of the airport, Mikke and a few friends moved on to their own Käärijä continuations.

– We had a small group at Jere’s camp. We partied a bit and had a couple of drinks. Then sleep in peace.

– It was quite difficult to go home. With the same eyes, without sleeping after visas, we took the bus to London in the morning and from there to Finland. It took the juices by itself, says Mikke.

But Käärijä by no means had the patience to sit still on Monday.

– He called as early as nine in the morning about our company’s affairs! Jere is Jere, hard at work, Mikke laughs.

“Yes, it was a shame”

Käärijä has an ice rink gig on Friday, the arrangements of which started employing the man right after Eurovision.

According to the brother, however, the man can still relax.

– The ice rink gig is a really big deal for Jere. He wants to give the fans a good show. After that, Jere might be able to calm down and a vacation is on the way before the festival summer starts, Mikke knows.

Together with Yle, the city of Vantaa had already prepared the folk festival in case Käärijä won the Eurovision Song Contest. They were not arranged for the silver medal, although the fans would certainly have liked to have met Käärijä at the market.

– I understand Jere’s position that the market party is only for winners. And the airport was already quite a folk festival, it had the feel of a market festival, says Mikke.

He doesn’t deny that being in second place would have upset Jere.

– Yes, it was a pity. But Jere was able to cover it up.

– And when there has been feedback from all sides that Käärijä was the real winner, the feeling of defeat has not been able to hit.

to overthrow Sweden

Mikke is not worried about his brother’s well-being.

– After UMK, Jere said he was exhausted. That’s when we consciously pulled the brakes and left some things undone. Jere has good self-awareness and he knows his own limits, Mikke sums up.

The family party has yet to be held.

Jere and Mike’s parents didn’t come to Finland until a later flight, so they haven’t had time to sit down to cups of coffee and cream cakes.

– If only mother had time to bake us a chocolate pie sometime, that would be enough, Mikke laughs.

On Monday evening, the Pöyhösten brothers plan to watch hockey together. The Finland-Sweden match of the World Cup is available.

– Now Finland has to win! Mikke threatens and wishes the Leijona team a lot of good luck.
