The Guardian magazine asks cultural influencers which work has impressed them.
In The Guardian story several influencers in the cultural sector tell what is a significant work or cultural moment for them. Among others, the author can vote Candice Carty-Williamsa comedian Rosie Jonestwo-time five-time winner Loreen and of course Käärijä, i.e Jere Pöyhönen.
Käärijä says his career took off like a rocket this year, thanks to Eurovision. The year has been a balancing act between the everyday Jere and the artist persona Käärijä.
– Käärijä is a part of Jere and vice versa, but there are still differences in these characters and separating the roles has caused both headaches and moments of joy, Käärijä says.

The wrapper compares his own year The two of us & Irene to the movie. In the film starring Jim Carrey, two personalities live different lives in the same person and body. One of the characters is “ordinary”, a bit timid and polite. The other, on the other hand, does and says things that the poorer can only dream of.
The wrapper tells how he does not have a personality disorder, like the character in the film, but he sees himself in the main character of the film.
– During the year, I have had to balance my everyday life with the Käärijä persona.
The wrapper’s everyday life has changed to such an extent that he can’t even go to the store.
– But of course the moments with the fans are really wonderful, both for Jere and Käärijä!
