Finland’s Eurovisa representative Wrapper that is, Jere Pöyhönen condemns Russia’s war of aggression. This is evident from his recent Instagram story.

On Friday, March 3, accounts that Pöyhönen follows on Instagram became a topic of conversation on social media, and especially on the messaging service Twitter. Writer Sofi Oksanen wrote on Twitter that she was amazed that Pöyhönen was following the Kremlin.

Pöyhönen says in his Instagram story that he wants to clarify that following accounts does not mean that he supports their content.

– I am strongly on the side of equality and human rights. I am going to represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Ukraine, which will be held in England because of the shocking war of aggression started by Russia, Pöyhönen writes.

Pöyhönen states that military actions in Ukraine are unequivocally condemnable.

– I have condemned them since the first day of the war. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which is causing suffering to millions of people, shocks me deeply. Peace and love to everyone, Pöyhönen concludes with a heart emoji.

In the video, Pöyhönen explains more about his thoughts. He hopes that people would not judge each other or draw conclusions based on one story.

– In my opinion, this applies to all people. There is still room for improvement in this matter. It’s not nice for those people who are lynched and thrown under the bus right away without any real factual information and such. That’s what this is about, but nothing but good things for everyone, says Pöyhönen.

Käärijä was chosen as Finland’s Eurovision representative in the New Music competition last Saturday. He will represent Finland in May in Liverpool with a song Cha Cha Cha.
