The number of inhabitants on our planet continues to grow, today the counter has passed eight billion. But in North Holland this growth is not very noticeable yet.
As in previous years, the growth in the number of inhabitants in North Holland has not increased enormously. So there were according to Numbers of the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) in 2019 2,853,359 inhabitants and the number rose to 2,909,827 this year. That is an increase of 56,468 in three years.
Amsterdam grew the most

Which municipalities will grow even more?
According to the Regional Population and Household Forecast 2022-2050 the large and medium-sized cities (with at least 100,000 inhabitants) will continue to grow until 2035, as will various suburbs around the large cities.
Amsterdam is expected to gain the most inhabitants in absolute terms, at over 175 thousand. Ouder-Amstel, which is located next to Amsterdam, is predicted to grow the fastest between 2021 and 2035, at 40.9 percent, followed by Zuidplas (40.6 percent) and Diemen (28.2 percent).
