The world’s largest space rocket is launched today

The space company SpaceX is launching the world’s largest space rocket for a test flight today. The launch is scheduled to start at 16:28 Finnish time. The launch will take place from the company’s base in Texas.

The space rocket consists of a Starship spacecraft and a Super Heavy booster launch vehicle. The rocket is about 120 meters long.

According to the company, Starship could transport crew and equipment to Earth’s orbit, to the Moon or even to Mars. The purpose of the test flight is to provide information on how the success of the launch could be improved.

The space rocket was supposed to be launched on the 17th, but the launch had to be postponed for three days due to problems with the pressure valve.

The launch vehicle will later land in the Gulf of Mexico after launch, and the spacecraft will land in the Pacific Ocean after the test flight. The test flight takes about an hour and a half in total.
