Universal Music Group (UMG), the world’s largest record company, is withdrawing all its music from the social network TikTok. Negotiations with the Chinese company regarding artist compensation and copyright have failed. In an open letter, Universal accuses TikTok of “trying to build a business based on music, without paying a fair price for the music.”
